How it works

Five steps, on every open matter.

Your work runs on two things: the documents people send you, and the list of what has to be in a file before you can act on it. Kasii runs the loop between them.

The shape of it

Three things happen. Five steps do them.

01 · Collect

Everything that reaches your firm, on the right matter, named.

02 · Assemble

Every open matter checked against what that work needs.

03 · Complete

The messages that close the gaps, and the document at the end.

01Collect

The information is everywhere. Your file isn’t.

Texts, email, forms, a shared drive, your case system — anything you give it access to. Each thing lands on the right matter under a name you can read, rather than in a folder somebody has to open to find out what is in it.

Nothing has to be connected first. Kasii starts on one channel you already have.

02Collect

A PDF in a folder tells you nothing.

Kasii reads what comes in — scans, emails, bills, forms — and pulls out the parts you actually use: who sent it, when, how much, which matter it belongs to. A fourteen-page record becomes a handful of things you can sort, total and check.

Every figure it pulls out keeps the label it came off, so you can see where a number came from rather than trusting it.

03Assemble

You find out what’s missing now, not on drafting day.

Every open matter is checked against the list of what that kind of work needs: the bill nobody asked for, the notes that stopped in April, the figure nobody has confirmed. What is missing is a list with a name against each line, not a feeling somebody has about a file.

The list is yours. What a file needs before it can go out is your firm's judgement, and it gets built with your team.

04Assemble

Every gap comes with the message that closes it.

For each thing the file needs, Kasii writes what has to go out — the text to the client, the email to the provider, the records request with the release attached and a link to reply on. What comes back files itself against the matter, named.

A person reads every message and presses send. Kasii writes; it does not correspond with your clients on its own.

05Complete

The file is ready for whatever comes next.

Everything collected, everything on your list checked off. So the demand, the statement, the submission — whatever it is — starts from a file that is already complete, and the draft is built from what the file holds rather than re-typed out of it.

Nothing is re-keyed, which is why the figures in the draft and the figures in the record cannot drift apart.

Questions

What people ask about the steps.

What is intelligent document processing?

Software that reads a document the way a person would — a scan, an email, a bill — and pulls out who sent it, what it is, which matter it belongs to and what it says. OCR turns a picture of a page into characters. This works out what the page means and where it goes.

How is this different from OCR?

OCR gives you the words on the page and stops there. What a firm needs is the meaning: that this is a billing statement from this provider, for this date of service, for this amount, belonging to this matter. Kasii does the reading, and keeps the label each figure came off so the number can be checked rather than trusted.

Does Kasii do anything without a person?

It reads, files and checks without a person, because none of that has judgement in it. It does not send. Every message, request and draft is written for somebody to read and send, and every fact it pulls out of a document is confirmed by a person before the file treats it as settled.

How long before it is doing something useful?

It reads real matters as soon as it has a channel — a mailbox, a shared drive, the number your clients already text — so it is working before anything is connected to your case system and without moving a single file. The checklist for your kind of work takes longer, because it gets built with your team.

Twenty minutes, on a file that looks like yours.

We'll walk a real matter through all five — what arrives, what gets read out of it, what it says is missing and what it writes to close it. Bring the case type you handle most.

Nothing to install, nothing to connect, and none of your files leave your firm.
